In the first quarter of 2024, Australia's personal finance app landscape showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Sensor Tower's data gives us a closer look at these trends for the top budgeting and planning applications.

WeMoney: Pay off debt faster saw an initial spike in revenue at the beginning of the quarter, reaching up to $9K in mid-January, before experiencing a downward trend to around $2K by the end of March. Downloads for WeMoney peaked at 11K in the first week of January but declined to under 6K towards the end of the quarter.

Splitwise, another popular app, also observed a decrease in revenue, starting at approximately $3K and falling to $1.7K by the end of March. Downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around 5K per week, while weekly active users started at 32K and saw a slight increase to nearly 28K by the quarter's end.

The Buddy: Budget Planner App showed a mixed performance with an initial revenue of $4.5K, peaking at $6.6K in the second week and then declining to just over $1K. Downloads started strong at 5K but dropped to 1.3K, and weekly active users saw a gradual decrease from 5.4K to 3.3K.

Kit - Pocket Money App & Card had no reported revenue for the quarter. However, downloads for the app started at 2.3K and decreased to just over 1K by the end of March.

Lastly, Money Manager Expense & Budget saw its revenue fluctuate, beginning at $940, dipping to $464 mid-March, and then rising slightly to $607. Downloads showed a slight decline from 1.5K to 731, and weekly active users remained fairly stable, starting at 5.4K and ending the quarter around 5.5K.
